The Kogi State Governor,. Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has assured communities in Kogi State that his administration will continue to prioritize their welfare through execution of projects which has direct bearing on the lives of the people
The governor who was speaking during the 10th year anniversary of the coronation of Olu of Apata, Ipatun -Oworo in Lokoja Local Government Area, His Royal Highness, Oba, Dr. Fredrick Durojaiye, and the launch of 500 million naira fund raising for skill acquisition and construction of a multipurpose center, noted that the request for the construction of a Primary Health Center in the area will receive top most priority of his administration.
He enjoined the monarch to continue to sustain the existing peace in the area, adding that his administration will continue to work with relevant stakeholders to secure the lives and property of the entire state, with particularly attention to Apata Community, because of it’s strategic location.
“On your request for a primary health center to take care of the health needs of the people, I want to assure you that it will be top most in our arrangement. You will get it within the shortest time.
“My charge to you and your people is to continue to maintain the existing people in your community. No meaning development can take place in an insecured environment. I will continue to work with relevant stakeholders to ensure the security of lives and property of the people of the state and Apata Community in particular, because of your strategic location.
The governor who was also conferred with the title of Aare Atuluse of Apataland, was represented by the Secretary to the state government, Dr. Mrs Folashade Arike Ayoade.
In his welcome address the Olu Olu of Apata, Ipatun -Oworo in Lokoja Local Government Area, Oba, Dr. Fredrick Durojaiye, promised to continue to work for the unity, peace and Development of Apata Kingdom.
According to Oba Durojaiye, the 10th year anniversary is to take stock of he and hi cabinet have been able to do for the community and chart the way forward for more impactful Development, hence the . launch of 500 million naira for skill acquisition and construction of a multipurpose center for the Apata community.
He appealed to the Kogi state government to construct a modern Primary Healthcare center in Apata Community to service not only the Apata community and the other adjoining communities.
Speaking further, the Oba said “I would like to take a moment to express my heartfelt appreciation to the state government for their unwavering support over the past decade. Their initiatives, including the establishment of schools and a magistrate court in our kingdom, have greatly enhanced the quality of life for our people. Furthermore, the elevation of the Olu Apata stool to a second-class status is a testament to the recognition of our heritage and the importance of our leadership within the state.
“To my esteemed traditional council and the resilient people of Apata, | extend my heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support and dedication in making this celebration a reality. Your efforts are the backbone of our community’s strength and prosperity.
Apata Community plays host to the Dangote Group of Industries, made up of the LC, Dangote Cement Transport, Dangote Packaging and Dangote Academy and several other Companies
In his welcome address, Otunba Alhaji Ibrahim Isa Adoga, Planning Committee Chairman, called on the people of the community to continue to support the Oba to attract more development to Apata Community.
“| welcome you to this momentous occasion the 10-year anniversary of the reign of our Oba, as the Olu of Apata Kingdom. Today, we gather not only to celebrate a decade of leadership and unity, also to showcase the rich culture and traditions of our great people.
“This celebration is a significant opportunity for us to share our heritage with the Won and strengthen the bonds within our community. | am delighted to highlight that Apata, sits on top of abundant mineral resources, including clay and dolomite, and our vast and fertile lands are ripe for agricultural investment, presenting incredible opportunities for growth and collaboration.
Those conferred with chieftaincy titles are, Kogi state Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo was also conferred with the title of Aare Atuluse of Apataland, Chief Dauda Momoh who is the Chieftaincy title of Mayegun of Apataland.
Others are: Alhaji Aliko Dangote as AareTayese of Apataland, Emeritus Prof. Olugbemiro Jegede as the Gbadeniyi of Apataland, Engr. Edwin Davakumar, as Aare Afiwajoye of Apataland, Dr. Onimode Abdullahi Bandele who is the Bobagunwa of Apataland, Barr. Fumilayo Schule, as the Erelu of Apataland and Chief Olusegun Foluwaso Obanla who is the Bobaselu of Apataland.
