Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, on Friday paid a condolence visit to the family of Alhaji Sanni Ataba, former Clerk of the House of the National Assembly and Chiroma of Ebira land, over the loss of his mother, Hajia Sefinat Omonori, in Okene.
During the three-day Fidau prayer, Governor Ododo while sympathizing with Alhaji Ataba and the people of Ebira land and Kogi State, noted that Hajia Sefinat lived a peaceful and fulfilling life, sacrificing herself for the peace of Ebira land.
The Governor recalled his last visit to Hajia Sefinat, saying, “Mama prayed for me and gave me valuable advice to serve humanity. Little did I know those were her last words to me.” He promised that the Kogi State Government would continue to support the family and community.
Governor Ododo urged the Ebira Nation to remain united and supportive of his administration, emphasizing the need for peace and unity to move Kogi State forward.
Alhaji Muhammed Tijani Anaje, Ohinoyi of Ebira land and Vice President of the Kogi State Traditional Council, praised Hajia Sefinat’s motherly role to the entire Ebira Nation. He thanked the dignitaries for attending the burial and urged them to continue living in peace.
Alhaji Muhammed Sanni Ataba, son of the deceased and Ciroma of Ebira land, thanked Governor Ododo and his entourage for their visit and prayed for the repose of his mother’s soul.
The condolence visit by Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo was proof of his commitment to standing with the people of Kogi State in times of joy and sorrow.
