Following a three-month medical leave of absence in Germany, Ondo State governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has returned to Nigeria.
He arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Thursday afternoon.
The governor had departed Nigeria in June to seek medical care in Germany, temporarily withdrawing from the affairs of the state government. He turned over power to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, to act in his stead.
His wife, Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, confirmed the arrival of her husband through a concise message on her social media platforms. She shared a photograph of her husband, captioning it “homebound.”
According to reliable sources, Governor Akeredolu is expected to travel to Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, from Abuja before proceeding to Ondo State.
Furthermore, an insider confirmed that a meeting will take place on Friday in Ibadan with cabinet members and other members of his political family.
