Chelsea legend, Frank Leboeuf has urged the club to sign an experienced midfielder instead of Brighton’s Moises Caicedo.
Leboeuf believes Caicedo is not the right player for Chelsea to sign this summer, adding that what the Blues lack is an experienced midfielder following the departure of the likes of Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic and N’Golo Kante.
Caicedo, 21, has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea this summer.
“I love the player. What he showed last season was absolutely fantastic and one of the best players in his position right now,” Leboeuf said (via HITC).
“It’s not, for me, what Chelsea should look for. They have no experienced players in the middle of the park. That is what is lacking the most for me at Chelsea.
“They lost Kovacic, Kante and Jorginho before the end of the season, and they didn’t replace them. Caicedo is a great player, but he has not got the experience that I am looking for and will be needed in the middle of the park for Chelsea,” he added.
