Former Reps Member Call for Enough Time for Currency Exchange

The former member representing Dandi, Arewa federal constituency and former Commissioner for Commerce in Kebbi state, Alhaji Ibrahim Bawa Kamba, has called on the federal government to give enough time for the new currency exchange from the initial dateline.

Alhaji Bawa Kamba, advised that, the government to extent the date to at least six months for the exchange to enable those that kept their money at home to take to banks.

Alhaji Kamba, explains that, with the annoucement of the currency exchange by the federal government, people are now moving in to rural markets with large sum of money purchasing grains in stock and domestic animals to spend the money they kept in stock at home.

According to him, with the announcement of the new currency exchange, prices of commodities have sky rocketed in the country particularly food stuff.

On the issue of revenue generation of Kebbi state, Kamba stated that, the incoming government have to wake up and do alot to genarate more revenues for the state as its now generating limited revenue compared to other states.

He advice that, their are lots of fuel filling stations, shops, weekly markets and rice mills that the state can generate more revenue.

Kamba called on the state government to also revisit its proposed Katanga Cement factory in Jega local government area of the state which would generate more revenue for the state and create employment.
