Ex-House of Reps member, Aliyu Bahago Ahman Patigi is dead

Aliyu Bahago Ahman Patigi, a prominent political figure from Kwara State, has passed away.

A former member of the House of Representatives, Patigi represented Edu/Moro/Patigi Federal Constituency from 2007 to 2019.

The family announced the demise of the late lawmaker and Pro-Chancellor of Ahman Patigi University in Patigi, Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State in a statement on Thursday.

“His contributions to education and politics will be remembered. May his family and loved ones find comfort during this difficult time,” the statement added.

During his tenure, he was known for advocating development in his community and pushing forward legislative agendas that improved the socio-economic conditions of his constituents.

One of his most notable achievements was founding Ahman Pategi University in 2021 in Kwara State.

The university, which was named after his father, a former First Republic Minister of Agriculture and Health, was established with the goal of providing quality education to the North Central region, particularly the Nupe community.

As the Pro-Chancellor of Ahman Pategi University, he oversaw its growth and championed initiatives aimed at fostering education and development in his hometown.
