Evra sorry for Lampard, names club to challenge Man City title this season

Manchester United legend, Patrice Evra has said he is sorry for Frank Lampard ahead of the Merseyside derby.

The former France international also tipped Liverpool to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title again this season.

Everton is yet to record a win after five matches this season and looks forward to getting results when they file out against neighbours, Liverpool at lunchtime on Saturday.

For Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp’s side struggled at the beginning of the season but have won their last two matches, including a 9-0 win over Bournemouth last weekend.

Speaking to Betfair ahead of the game, Evra said, “For the Merseyside derby. I will go with Liverpool because I think their season has properly started now.

“They didn’t play badly at the start but the results weren’t there. Everton is struggling, they still don’t have a win and I feel so sorry for Lampard, this is the worst moment to play Liverpool.

“Klopp’s side is looking for consistency and they are going to be looking to challenge City again.”
