Emir Sanusi hosts Iftar, holds meeting with Gov Yusuf’s delegation

‎The 16th Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, Tuesday, hosted senior government officials for Iftar at his palace, followed by a private meeting with a delegation representing Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.

‎The meeting, held at the Gidan Rumfa palace, was confirmed in a Facebook post on Wednesday by the governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.

‎“Shortly after the Iftar at the Emir’s Palace, the Governor’s delegation had a closed-door meeting with His Highness,” Dawakin Tofa stated.

‎Members of the delegation included the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ibrahim; the Governor’s Chief of Staff, Sulaiman Wali Sani; and Dawakin Tofa.

‎The meeting is believed to be connected to the ongoing Emirship dispute following the reinstatement of Sanusi II by Governor Yusuf in 2024, a decision still being challenged in court by Aminu Ado Bayero.
