Emir of Daura confers traditional title on Tinubu’s daughter

The Emir of Daura, His Royal Highness Alhaji Umar Faruk Umar, has honoured Mrs. Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, Iyaloja-General of Lagos and daughter of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.


‎Tinubu-Ojo was conferred with the title of Jakadiyar Kasar Hausa.


‎The monarch also honoured the Minister of Arts, and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, with the title of Mairamar Kasar Hausa.


‎The colourful ceremony took place at the Emir’s Palace in Daura shortly after the Hawan Magajiya, popularly known as Sallar Gani.


‎The occasion attracted prominent government officials, traditional rulers, dignitaries and several female traditional title holders.


‎The traditional titles were conferred in recognition of the recipients’ contributions to society, particularly their efforts in promoting cultural heritage, empowering women and supporting community development.


‎The ceremony also highlighted the enduring cultural traditions of the Daura Emirate and the important role of traditional institutions in recognising individuals who contribute to the promotion and preservation of Hausa culture and heritage.


‎The event further showcased the rich cultural heritage of Daura, attracting dignitaries who joined the Emirate in celebrating the recognition of the two prominent women.

‎Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, attended the occasion alongside the Chief of Staff, Hon. Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir; Principal Private Secretary, Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu Turaji; and other dignitaries.
