Embattled Ex-Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello Meets Wike In Abuja

The immediate past governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello paid a visit to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, at his Abuja residence on Thursday afternoon.

Bello, who is currently facing multiple multi-billion Naira fraud cases, was accompanied by his successor and incumbent Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.

The former governor is perceived to be seeking new alliances with influential members of President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet. This follows his alienation from major activities of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) activities.

It was reports that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has filed multiple cases against Bello before a Federal High Court in Abuja and an FCT High Court.

Bello’s ordeal began immediately after the end of his tenure as Kano governor.

He fell out of favour with President Bola Tinubu. The former governor blamed powerful APC stalwarts for his ill fortunes after stepping down as governor.
