Ekiti NSCDC parade three men for allegedly raping woman

The Ekiti State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has paraded three persons over the alleged rape of a hearing-impaired lady in Ado Ekiti, the state capital.

The suspects, Sunday Shittu, 19; Famuagun Olajide, 19; and Olorede Elijah, 38; were arrested in Ado Ekiti after a desk officer in the People With Disability Unit went on a sensitization visit to the School for the Deaf in Ikoro-Ekiti, where the victim personally wrote a letter to the Unit alleging rape and sexual assault.

Parading the suspects, the State Commandant, Mr John Olatunde Fayemi, warned parents to take adequate care of their children, especially those living with challenges, as some irresponsible men are out there to molest and defile helpless special children.

A release by the state CDPRO, Tolu Afolabi, said the suspects would be made to face the full wrath of the law by charging them to a court of competent jurisdiction after the conclusion of a preliminary investigation by the Command.
