Dominant Plateau United outclass Libya’s Al Akhdar

Albert Hilary scored a brace as Plateau United moved closer to securing a place in the money-spinning group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup courtesy of a 4-1 win against Libyan club, Al Akhdar.

Plateau United were in ascendancy in the opening exchanges but took a while to breach the opponents defence.

Prolific forward, Mustapha Yuga, gave the home team the lead on 27 minutes nodding home from close range.

The Jos club missed a number of chances afterwards.

Fidelis Ilechukwu’s side doubled their lead four minutes before the break through Ifeanyi Emmanuel.

Emmanuel slotted the ball home following a superb cross from Haggai Katoh.

Hilary had the ball inside the net eight minutes after the break but the goal was ruled out for offside.

The striker finally got his goal with an acrobatic finish 15 minutes from time.

The visitors pulled a goal back in the 85th minute.

Hilary however Plateau United’s three- goal lead deep into stoppage time.

The reverse fixture will take place next week Wednesday in Benghazi.
