The Presidential Candidate of the People Democratic Party (PDP) Alh. Atiku Abubakar, was on Sunday evening, received by overwhelming crowd at the Mal. Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano.

Atiku, who’s coming had been anticipated by many, was received by PDP party dignitaries in the state, party members, enthusiastic supporters and other well-wishers despite the heavy August rain which started from the wee hours of the day.

The warm reception further indicates the strength of the party in the state as stated by some party members who stated that PDP in Kano remains together as one and would work assiduously to deliver the state to their presidential candidate in the forthcoming presidential election in 2023.

“You can see how people came out despite the heavy rain which earlier trapped them indoors.

Our candidate is popular and this shows that Kano people are for Atiku and are ready to give him their mandate.

And I tell you this; Atiku is the leader Nigerians need to salvage them. He is a man of vision and multiple wealth of wisdom.

The time has come and believe in him that the passion he has for the development of this nation, shall be the propelling force needed for rapid development”, one of the party members added.

The all smiling Atiku is in the state on official visit to officially receive Senator Ibrahim Shekarau of the NNPP back into the PDP during a ceremony slated for Monday.

Shekarau who represent Kano senatorial district at the National Assembly recently made known his intention to cross the carpet after what he described ‘betrayal’ by the NNPP presidential candidate, Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso.

With Shekarau’s decision to pitch tent with PDP, numerous supporters of the Senator are also expected to follow him into his new party, the PDP.
