Court Summons Ex-Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello Over Alleged N110.4 Billion Corruption

A Federal Capital Territory High Court in Maitama has issued a public summons to Yahaya Bello, former governor of Kogi State, to appear before the court on October 24.

Presiding Judge Maryanne Anenih directed Bello to face a 16-count charge brought by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The EFCC alleges Bello committed a criminal breach of trust to the tune of N110,446,470,089, violating sections 96 and 311 of the Penal Code Law Cap.89, Laws of Northern Nigeria, 1963. If convicted, Bello will face penalties under Section 312 of the same law.
