The future of Bangladesh will be determined through the upcoming parliamentary election and a referendum scheduled for 12 February, Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus has said.

He made the remarks on Tuesday (13 January) morning while speaking at the South Asian Regional Conference on Higher Education.

Addressing the conference, the Chief Adviser said that the country’s education system focuses solely on preparing students to secure jobs. He questioned why young people do not move beyond the mindset of job-seeking and instead come forward to become entrepreneurs.

He further stated that young people have their own political parties, and expressed his hope that many of them would be elected in the upcoming polls. At the same time, he called on the youth to be dreamers and to pursue their aspirations boldly.
