Newsmen gathered that Anka was kidnapped at his residence in Maru town, Maru Local Government Area of the state, three weeks ago.

It was also learnt that the lecturer was abducted alongside other residents when the bandits stormed the town and kidnapped so many persons.

A resident of the area, Usman Ibrahim, confirmed the killing of the lecturer.

The woman said that Nasiru Muhammad Anka was killed in her presence following torture by the bandits in their camp when his family could not meet up with the amount the abductors demanded as ransom for his freedom.

She said that she escaped from the bandits’ camp when they were all drunk and fell asleep, adding that two days after the lecturer’s death, the bandits tried to remove some of his sensitive body parts, but stopped when they discovered that his remains have already decomposed.

“The bandits kept telling him that his people have money, if they love him they should bring the money or they kill him, and that was how they killed him after collecting the N2 million that they claimed was not enough or up to their target,” the woman said.
