Avoid panic buying of fuel, IPMAN tells motorists

Nigerians have been advised against panic purchase of petroleum products ahead of the Yuletide season’s celebration.

The advise was handed to Nigerians by the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) in Abuja on Sunday.

According to Ukadike Chinedu, the publicity secretary of the association, there is enough fuel to carter for the needs of motorists and other product users across the country.

Chinedu said withe various refineries coming up and those being refurbished, there would be a competition of fuel prices across the country.

He also called on members of the association to ensure they adjust their pump prices to the new fuel prices to attract more customers.

His words, “We have started ordering on the new price, and even some of our members have already started adjusting their pumps lower to be able to have faster sales. If your price is higher, nobody will buy from you.

You will even find out now that those queues that you normally see in NNPC filling stations have all reduced because most marketers are almost selling the same thing with them,” Chinedu added.
