August 1 protest: Tension as police fire tear gas at protesters in Bauchi

Operatives of the Bauchi State Police Command have disrupted the #Endbadgovernance protest in the state.

Reports stated that police officers fired teargas at the protesters on Thursday, who gathered in front of the Emir of Bauchi’s palace.

The protesters were demanding a meeting with the emir but were stopped by a police barricade.

As the protesters insisted on meeting with the emir, police officers deployed the use of teargas to disperse them.
