The National Welfare Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Donatus Nwankpa, has urged Nigerians to exercise patience with President Bola Tinubu, expressing confidence in the President’s ability to not only transform the country’s fortunes but also elevate Nigeria to the ranks of the world’s most powerful economic nations.
Speaking in Aba, the commercial hub of Abia State, Nwankpa stated that President Tinubu and his economic team are trying to revitalize the nation’s economy.
He noted that the administration’s commitment to stabilizing Nigeria’s economic situation is already evident in the policies implemented since taking office.
“President Tinubu has shown that he possesses the political will to lead Nigeria out of its current economic challenges,” Nwankpa stated.
Nwankpa, who also previously served as the state chairman of the APC in Abia, made the remarks while receiving a delegation from the Nneoma Women Forum, an APC women’s group representing Osisioma, Obingwa, and Ugwunagbo Local Government Areas.
During the meeting, he emphasized the importance of continued support for both the party and President Tinubu, while also calling for increased participation of women in politics.
He described women as critical stakeholders in the political development of both the state and the country at large.
Reflecting on the impactful contributions of notable Nigerian women in public service, Nwankpa stated, “Women, when given the chance, can make a great impact, as exemplified by the late Dora Akunyili, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, and others who have served with distinction in various public and political offices.”
He further encouraged women to embrace their potential and play active roles in society.
“The days are gone when women sit idly at home, relying solely on their husbands or family members. Women should see themselves as individuals with God-given potential to positively impact their world.”
