The Kogi State Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Abanika Taiye, has charged APC political appointees, leaders and stakeholders in Ajaokuta Local Government Area to intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Abanika gave the charge while presiding over a meeting of APC political appointees and stakeholders in Ajaokuta, where he urged party members to take the mobilisation campaign to every ward, community and polling unit.
The commissioner said the directive was in line with the call by Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for political appointees to engage the grassroots and ensure that voters were adequately sensitised ahead of the elections.
He urged stakeholders to close ranks and work collectively to deliver massive votes for all APC candidates, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and former Governor Yahaya Bello, who is seeking election to represent Kogi Central in the Senate.
He equally solicit support for Hon. Sanni Egidi Abdulraheem for the House of Representatives; Hon. Mustapha Aliyu Akaba for Ajaokuta South State Constituency; Hon. Sanni Aguva for Ajaokuta North State Constituency and Hon. Haruna Muhammed Ganaja for Ajaokuta Local Government Council chairman.
Abanika also stressed the importance of early preparations, urging party members and supporters to ensure that their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) were in place and to sustain voter mobilisation across the local government.
He said the strength of the APC would be demonstrated through effective grassroots organisation, unity and active participation of members across the 14 wards of Ajaokuta.
The meeting attracted elder statesmen, party leaders, stalwarts, political appointees and youths from the 14 wards, who pledged their commitment to strengthening the APC’s grassroots structures and mobilising support for the party ahead of the elections.
