By Yakubu Salisu, Kano

Senator Musa Baki Haujara of the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) has projected that the party is out to take over the country in the forthcoming general elections.

Haujara who is the national representative of NNPP at the party’s Kano primary elections on Monday said that, the part has become a third force to recon with.

According to him, the party is optimistic to clinching key positions in the polity of the nation considering the calibre of persons whom have moved into the party from other political parties which makes NNPP a national party and not a regional party as insinuated in some quarters.

He said, “the nation’s politics is shaken, a lot of people are moving out from their parties to join forces with us.

“What makes us different is that we all work in harmony to have consensus candidates unlike other parties who imposes candidate on the electorates”.

“Where there is high competition for any seat, NNPP is ready to conduct a free and fair elections to give to the people what they want”, he added.

However, Musa stated that in the case of their Kano Gubernatorial choice, it is a consensus candidate which the party’s delegates numbering 1,452 will affirm during the primary processes on Monday along side other elective positions.

The senator further stated that the peaceful atmosphere witnessed in Kano today is what will be seen across the federation as such, Nigerians should entrust them with their mandate as the party has what it takes to take the country to the promised land.
