2023: GPMI to visit Nigeria over Muslem-Muslem ticket

Global Peace Movement International UK said all arrangements have been concluded for it’s members from UK, US, France, Italy and Spain to visit Borno state the home state of the All Progressive Party’s vice presidential candidate, Shettima.

The visit according to the group is to access the performance of Kashim Shettima and how he related to both Christians and Muslems during his tenure as the governor of the state.

In a press statement signed by the President General Dr. Mike Uyi said it is time for Nigerians to realize that the country is far beyond religious sentiment.

“Unless we as country men and women distance ourselves from the religious shackles, the country will never move on”.

It could be recalled that since the announcement of Shettima as the vice presidential candidate, there have been divergent views by different groups and individuals.

While many have defended and justified the choice, others have spoken against it, including many members of the APC and close allies of Mr Tinubu.

Uyi noted that during the visit to Borno state, GPMI will interact with the locals for a comprehensive accessment of Kashim’s administration and how he was able to manage religion in Borno state.

“GPMI was in Iraq during the reign of Saddam Hussein and we were able to come up with a comprehensive report of the crisis in Iran at that time and after presented it the Late Saddam Hussein.

“It will also not be out of place if we do such sacrifice for Nigeria at this point in time when the country is at a cross road”.
