Ojo Joy Nene has given Team Nigeria its first boxing gold medal at the ongoing 13th Africa Games in Ghana.
She achieved the feat at the Bukom Boxing Arena, Accra, through a walkover when her Algerian opponent, Selmoun Chahira, refused to show up for their women’s 57kg bout.
Nine other Nigerians already listed for the finals will be hopping to achieve same feat when they climb the ring this Friday evening.
