Two suspected vandals nabbed in Borno

Yola Electricity Distribution Company (YEDC) said it has nabbed two suspected vandals of electricity cables in Borno State.

The company, on its verified Facebook page, noted that the continuous act of vandalism around substations is detrimental to its mission to rehabilitate, rebuild and reinforce the network.

“Recently, two individuals were apprehended while vandalizing the cables at a substation in Kwajjafa, Hawul Local Government Area of Borno State. Other communities affected are Federal Housing Estate No.3, Sangere Futy, Graveyard, and Nyibango-Barracks Road Substations in Adamawa State”, it posted.

According to YEDC, the act of vandalization causes prolonged outages and service disruptions to the affected communities and businesses.

The electricity distribution company appealed to communities to remain vigilant and report any individual or group of persons seen illegally tempering with distribution assets, especially substations and transformers.
