‎Troops rescue 12 civilians from terrorists in Zamfara

‎Troops of Operation Fansan Yamma have rescued 12 civilians during separate operations against terrorists in Kaura Namoda and Tsafe Local Government Areas of Zamfara State.

‎The operations were carried out on Monday, according to the Media Information Officer of Operation Fansan Yamma, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja.

‎Danja said troops first responded to a distress call after terrorists invaded a residence at Tsohon Tasha in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area.

‎He said the troops engaged the terrorists, forcing them to abandon six abducted civilians and escape across a nearby river.

‎“The six victims were rescued and later taken to safety before being reunited with their families,” the statement said.

‎In a separate operation in Tsafe Local Government Area, troops monitoring activities along the Main Supply Route spotted terrorists attempting to intercept a Sharon vehicle at Kwanoni Village.

‎According to Danja, the troops quickly moved to the area and engaged the terrorists.

‎“The terrorists were forced to abandon the attack and flee into a nearby bush, allowing the troops to rescue six more civilians,” the statement added.

‎“The two operations demonstrated the commitment of Operation Fansan Yamma to protecting lives and property while disrupting terrorist activities in its area of operation,” it added.
