Three suspected Eiye cultists arrested in Ogun

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested three young men for allegedly being members of the Eiye Confraternity around Joju, Sango/Ota.

Police said the arrest of the suspects followed “credible information provided by an anonymous citizen.”

The Divisional Police Officer of Sango Ota, CSP Saleh Dahiru, was said to have led his anti-robbery team to School 3 in Joju, Sango Ota.

A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, revealed that the suspects, Dakwo Micheal Jackson, Joel Obieva and Oluwaseun Bamideke, “were caught planning their illegal activities” at the said street.

During interrogation, the arrested persons had confessed that “they were part of a larger gang of Eiye confraternity, comprising five members, with their leader still at large.”

Odutola said the men intended to meet at the school before carrying out their planned operation, saying the swift action of the Sango police helped apprehend them “before they could execute their nefarious plans.”

She maintained that the police are making efforts to track down the fleeing suspects.
