A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Joe Igbokwe has charged State governors and National Assembly members to teach Nigerians how they have been sharing palliatives without any tragedy.
Igbokwe was reacting to the stampede that led to the death of several people in Okija, Ibadan, and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
Not less than 20 residents of Okija community in Anambra State lost their lives in the stampede.
The stampede occurred on Saturday during an event for the distribution of rice.
It was also reported that an unspecified number of persons died following a stampede at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Maitama area of Abuja.
Reacting, Igbokwe posted on Facebook: “Given what we saw in Ibadan, Abuja and Anambra I think we need to engage the Governors & National Assembly members to teach us how they have been sharing palliatives for years without tragic consequences. We learn everyday.”
