Borno attack: Zulum mourns victims, vows rescue of abducted residents

‎Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has mourned residents killed in a recent attack on Ngoshe community in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State, assuring that efforts are ongoing to rescue those abducted during the incident.

‎The governor spoke on Friday while visiting displaced residents from Ngoshe currently taking refuge in Pulka community, where he sympathised with families affected by the attack.

‎It had earlier been reported that gunmen suspected to be members of Boko Haram attacked Ngoshe, killing several residents and abducting many others.

‎Zulum said military operations were ongoing in the area and parts of Sambisa Forest to track the attackers and secure the release of abducted residents.

‎He noted that security forces were intensifying operations to flush out insurgents operating in the region.

‎The governor also called for increased military operations around the Mandara Mountains, which he said remains a major security concern due to the presence of insurgent groups.

‎Zulum added that the state government had begun providing relief support to affected residents, including food distribution and temporary feeding centres for displaced persons.

‎He also inspected houses destroyed during another attack in Konduga town.
