Sheikh Jingir: Rev Dachomo said worse things – Bashir Ahmad to Rufai Oseni

‎Former presidential media aide, Bashir Ahmad, has claimed that Plateau-based pastor, Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, made remarks that were worse than the controversial comments attributed to Islamic cleric, Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir.

‎Jingir, while speaking in Kano State on Saturday, had reaffirmed his support for a Muslim-Muslim ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections.

‎The cleric reportedly argued that the decision by the All Progressives Congress, APC to field a Muslim-Muslim ticket was justified by the numerical strength of Muslims over Christians in the country.

‎He also referred to Christians as infidels and claimed that Nigeria belongs to Muslims, remarks that have sparked widespread condemnation and calls for his arrest.

‎Reacting to the controversy, popular television host, Rufai Oseni, in a post on his official X handle on Tuesday night, questioned what the reaction would have been if a Christian cleric had made similar remarks.

‎“If a Christian cleric had said what Jingir said,” Oseni wrote.

‎However, responding to the post, Ahmad argued that Dachomo, a Christian cleric, had previously made comments that were even more offensive.

‎“It is not a competition, Rufai, but I can tell you that Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo has said things that were even worse. Both utterances are wrong,” Ahmad wrote on X.
