Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand has defended Mason Mount after the England midfielder struggled in his first two games for the club against Wolves and Tottenham Hotspur.
Ferdinand also claimed Jonny Evans would be ahead of Harry Maguire in Manchester United centre-back pecking order if he signs a contract with the club.
Recall that Man United were beaten 2-0 by Tottenham last weekend and Mount had a difficult match.
However, Ferdinand is in no rush to make a judgement about the former Chelsea man and feels his adaptation has been affected by the team’s early struggles this season.
Speaking on the latest episode of his Vibe with FIVE YouTube show, Ferdinand said: “If Jonny Evans signs he [Maguire] is behind Jonny Evans I reckon.”
Speaking on Mount, Ferdinand added, “You can’t judge a man after two games, you can’t, because there’d be players who became legends who would not have been legends if they’d been judged after two games and told to get out.”
