President Mr. Azam, General Secretary Mr. Chandu in the biennial election of Meherpur District Press Club in Bangladesh

The final results of the biennial election of Meherpur District Press Club in Bangladesh have been announced. As there are no competing candidates against 11 (eleven) posts, all the candidates have been declared elected unopposed.

Mr.Tozammel Azam, Meherpur District Correspondent of Bangladesh’s national newspaper Dainik Jugantor, has been elected as the President, and Mr. Mahabub Chandu, Managing Editor of Meherpur Pratidin and Meherpur District Correspondent of V News, has been elected as the General Secretary.

Although the voting date is set for December 20, 2025, the election management committee officially announced the results as there is a single candidate for each post.
On Monday (December 15), at around 4:30 pm, the President of the Meherpur District Press Club office was announced by the Election Management Committee, Anwarul Haque Kalu.

According to the announced results, the President has been elected Tozammel Azam (Jugantar), Vice President Naser Chowdhury (News Times), General Secretary Mahabub Chandu (Meherpur Pratidin / V News), Joint Secretary A Siddiqui Shaheen (Diner Khabor / Jawabdihi), Finance Secretary Dilruba Khatun (BSS / Pratidiner Sangbad), Mass Communication Secretary Md. Tofail Hossain (Dainik Inqilab and Dhaka Mail) and Office Secretary Masud Rana (Asian Age).

The elected executive members are – Mr. Dr. Amanur Aman (Daily Sun and Dainik Bonik Barta), Mr. Mortuza Faruk Rupak (Bhorer Kagoj), Mr. Sirajuddoza Pavel (Dainik Amar Sangbad) and Mr. Khan Mahmud Al Rafi (Dainik Kalbela).

At that time, Advocate Mr.Mizanur Rahman, member of the election management committee, was present.
President of the election management committee Mr. Anwarul Haque kalu, congratulated the newly elected leaders and said, Meherpur District Press Club will continue to play an important role in the unity and professional improvement of journalists.
