The Inspector General of Police, IGP, Kayode Egbetokun made this known on Thursday, when Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, and Opeyemi Bamidele, the Senate Majority Leader visited him at the Force Headquarters.

According to reports, two monarchs, the Onimojo of Imojo-Ekiti, Oba Olatunde Olusola; and Oba David Ogunsola, the Elesun of Esun-Ekiti were killed on Monday while returning from a meeting in Irele-Ekiti.

The Force spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi, in a statement on Thursday, said President Bola Tinubu has ordered the IGP to fish out the perpetrators.

Following the president’s directives, Adejobi disclosed that the police have ordered strategic deployments to deal with the incident, while assuring residents of the state that the pupils and the teachers kidnapped around Eporo-Ekiti area of the state would be rescued.

“The IGP has ordered the deployment of Police helicopters, Armored Personnel Carriers, IRT and STS operatives, and Police Mobile Force personnel, to augment the manpower already deployed to Ekiti for the special operations,” he said.
