Osagies’ bury mother in Ewohimi

The remains of late Mrs. Angelina Aiferaomon Osagie, mother of Brother Blessing Osagie (KSM) was laid to rest on Friday, at her home town, Agadaga, Ewohimi, Esan South East, Edo state.

The parish priest of St. Matthias Catholic Church, Eguare, Ewohimi, Rev. Fr. Jude Otaigbe. at the funeral sermon, said death was inevitable, adding that every mortal being would not escape it.

According to him, Christians should at all times be ready to meet the Creator by serving Him in truth and spirit.

“No matter the status of a human being, he or she must experience death at a point in time; from dust we came and surely shall go back to that dust one day.

“This is the high time for all and sundry to repent of their sins and come back to God.

Fr. Jude Otaigbe admonished people to behave well and utilise their time when alive to serve God.

He also urged Christians be close to God and ensure they spend their eternity with Jesus Christ after death.

According to him, eternity is real and hell fire is also real, urging Christians to choose eternity, “where they will have everlasting life”.

The cleric stressed that humans have limited time to spend on earth, adding that, “there is time for everything on earth, a time to be born and time to die”.

While charging parents to take parenting business seriously, he advice children to take care of their aged parents.

Fr. Otaigbe appealed to the children, family and well wishers to emulate the life of late Mrs. Angelina Aiferaomon Osagie, who even towards the twilight of her earthly existence still managed her walking stick every morning to struggle to go to Mass, and also kept sharing from the little she had with all wnom she came accross, “for she lived a well fulfilled life.”


Speaking, Reverend Sister Gladys Osagie (OLA), on behalf of the family appreciated God for the life of their mother and also thanked well wishers for their supports and prayers during their trying moment.

Sister Gladys said that their mother came, saw, fought and won, adding that they would greatly miss her, “we loved her, but Jesus loves her most.
