OGP NSA lists INGRA, PIBCID, CHRCR, EDs as co-chairs for SAP implementation steering committee

The Non – State Actors, (NSA), for the implementation of the Open Government Partnership, (OGP) Action Plan in Kogi State has submitted five nominees to serve as co-chair in the implementation Technical Working Group (TWG).

In a letter addressed to the Head of Secretariat, Kogi state OGP in Lokoja, signed by Ambassador Idris Ozovehe Muraina, NSA State Steering Committee Co- Chair, said the list is the outcome of the recent nomination process among the Non-State Actors (NSA) concerning the five commitment areas under the Kogi State Open Government Partnership (OGP).

Continuing Ambassador Idris said
“After a rigorous selection procedure, we are pleased to announce the following organizations and their respective representatives who have been nominated to co-chair each commitment area.

According to him, these individuals were selected based on their expertise, commitment, and the potential to contribute significantly to the advancement of the OGP objectives in Kogi State.

He urged the Kogi State OGP Secretariat to extend the necessary support and cooperation to these nominees as they assume their roles, saying that their success will depend on a collaborative effort, and believe that with the right resources and guidance, they will effectively drive the commitments forward

“Thank you for your attention to this matter. We look forward to the Secretariat’s continued support in fostering an open and accountable governance framework in Kogi State.Warm regards.

The nominees and their various commitment areas are as follows;
Fiscal Transparency, which is Enhance Citizens Participation in the State Budget Cycle has
Citizens Empowerment Project and Advocacy Trust (CEPAT) with Mr. Steve Salawu as Co -chair

The Fiscal Transparency 2, which is to Strengthen Public Procurement Process in Kogi State, has Participation Initiative for Behavioural Change in Development (PIBCID) as the lead organization with Mrs. Rachael Remilekun Akande as Co- Chair

The third area is Access to Information, to Improve Citizens Access to Government Held Information and Records, which has Challenged Parenthood Initiative (CPI) as the lead organization and Ms. Eunice Abimbola Agbogun as the Co- Chair

The fourth one is Service Delivery which is to Improve service delivery in Kogi State through the introduction of service compact, with Initiative for Grassroot Advancement in Nigeria (INGRA) as the lead organization and Mr. Hamza Aliyu as Co -chair

The fifth area is the Extractive Sector Transparency which will Work together with relevant stakeholders (Government, Mining Companies, Women, Youths, Persons with Disabilities and Vulnerable group towards enhancing healthy well-being of mining host communities with Conscience for Human Rights and Conflict Resolution (CHRCR) and Mr. Idris Miliki Abdul as Co-chair
