Nigerian forward, Saidu Salisu has joined Swedish club, IFK Gothenburg on loan with an option of a permanent transfer.

Salisu joined the Swedish giants from Nigeria Professional Football League outfit, Kano Pillars.

The striker will be able to play for the club when his work permit is sorted.

“Saidu Salisu has been with us for trial training since two weeks ago. An agreement is now in place with the 20-year-old’s Nigerian club Kano Pillars for a loan with the possibility of a permanent transfer,” reads a statement on the club’s official website.

“The work permit process starts now and we hope the authorities will have it ready in the next few weeks, so that Saidu will be fully ready to play.”

Head coach, Mikael Stahre has expressed delight at Salisu’s arrival at the club.

“He is a powerful striker and it will be valuable for us to have him with us for a longer period this summer and autumn. This allows us to evaluate Saidu further,” Stahre stated.
