Nigeria vs England is ’50-50′ – Ex-Falcons goalie, Ayegba

Former Super Falcons goalkeeper, Racheal Ayegba believes the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup Round of 16 encounter between his country and England can go either way.

The Super Falcons and the Three Lionesses will battle for a place in the quarter-finals at the Lang Park, Brisbane on Monday.

The highly anticipated encounter will kick-off at 8:30 am Nigerian time.

European champions, England will head into the game as the overwhelming favourites having scaled through the group stages with three wins out of three.

Sarina Wiegman’s side have scored eight goals and conceded twice.

Ayegba, who represented Nigeria between 2001 and 2010, however, insisted that his country have a chance of beating England.

“Every team has a weak point and England currently have some injuries,” Ayegba told the BBC.

“When Nigeria beat Australia, the hosts actually played well but we over-powered them with our strength and power.

“That’s our weapon that we have to use. If we can do that, then the game is 50/50.”
