Nigeria Humanitarian Action unveils year book, humanitarian personality

In commemoration of the World Humanitarian Day 2022, the Nigeria Humanitarian Action (NIHA), has launched a year book and also unveiled the face of humanitarian action.

This was contained in NIHA:s Report on the World Humanitarian Day, released on Monday in Abuja.

NIHA joined the rest of the World to celebrate this year’s World Humanitarian Day on Saturday with a blitz of two impactful events.

One was the public presentation of its Annual Report in a book form, aptly named the NIHA Yearbook 2020/21; and two, the investiture of its awardee for the World Humanitarian Day Personality 2022/2023.

This year’s prestigious award and first ever went to a notable Humanitarian Mr Tein Jack-Rich, Nigerian billionaire, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and Founder of Belema Aid Foundation.

Jack-Rich, one of the presidential aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC), is also the Chief Executive of Belema Oil Producing Ltd, one of Nigeria’s leading indigenous oil exploration and production companies.

At the ceremony, Jack-Rich was appointed the President of the Nigeria Humanitarian week 2022/2023.

Akor said the philanthropist was nominated and appointed as the first ever Nigerian World Humanitarian Day personality.

He further explained that it was a resolution that came from the Programme Year Opening Conference (PROYOC), where the Country Governors’ Group resolved to pick an individual that will be honoured during the NIHA Humanitarian week.

According to him, Jack-Rich was nominated because of his huge humanitarian works across the country.

As a philanthropist driven by his values to give back to the society, Jack-Rich has through his Foundation, awarded scholarships to hundreds of students, some of whom have graduated from schools in Canada, Ghana, Ukraine, UK, USA, Malaysia, Nigeria, North Cyprus, and the Philippines.

Today Jack-Rich and his foundation have provided for his community and other communities, the best potable drinking water, employing more than 3,000 Nigerian youths with plans for 12,000 as ambassadors of wealth creation throughout Nigeria.

The Saturday event was highly colourful and successful as the NIHA Yearbook was presented to the public for the benefit of mankind and the reading pleasure of the global humanitarian community.

Giving an insight into the book, the Chief Humanitarian of NIHA, Mr Kleisant Akor, said researchers into the humanitarian efforts of Nigerian state and non-state activists will find the NIHA Yearbook highly useful.

According to Akor, the year book documents all efforts to combat the COVID-19 pandemic and other humanitarian services.

”The NIHA Yearbook is structured into 12 chapters containing relevant, up-to-date and all the aspects of a global response to the COVID-19 pandemic and how the world responded to it.

”It contains necessary information and statistics on the Corona Virus pandemic with its devastating impact on the world’s health, business, and social interaction.

”The book thus provides optimal research efforts for the world to refer to in years to come,” Akor said.

The chief humanitarian noted that the book would be of immense benefit to those seeking education on the pandemic and how to avoid it or survive it in case of infection.

”The NIHA Yearbook provides adequate information on non-state activists and their roles in containing the pandemic,” Akor said.

The event was graced by many personalities from the humanitarian, business, social and religious sectors, as well as the media.
