Moghalu silent on future after losing ADC presidential ticket to Kachikwu

African Democratic Congress (ADC) 2023 presidential aspirant, Kingsley Moghalu said he won’t comment on his political future for now.

Dumebi Kachikwu defeated Moghalu at the primary which took place in Abeokuta, the Ogun capital, Wednesday night.

The entrepreneur polled 977 votes to beat the former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Deputy Governor who scored 589 votes.

In a statement Thursday night, Moghalu told the public that the primary had “a disappointing outcome”.

“As a person of faith, I believe that God knows his plans for me, and will lead me to a perfect end that I was a mere mortal do not know now”, he noted.

The lawyer thanked his supporters within and beyond the party, the delegates that voted for him and Nigerians yearning for good governance.

Moghalu congratulated “some of the other aspirants who embraced a different kind of politics and leadership for our country”.

He added that the primary required deep reflection, thus would “make no immediate determination of my future political pursuit”.

The ex-CBN chief said he’s available to serve and reiterated his commitment to a united and prosperous Nigeria.

Dumebi, the ADC flagbearer, is the founder of Roots Television and ex-Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu’s brother.
