Manchester United: Paul Ince slams Ten Hag, others for disrespecting him during 3-1 defeat

Manchester United legend Paul Ince has slammed the club’s staff for disrespecting him when his Reading side were beaten at Old Trafford last month.

The former Red Devils forward expressed disappointment by a perceived ‘lack of respect’ shown to him by Erik ten Hag and his staff during the FA Cup.

Ince watched his beaten 3-1 at Old Trafford, and he expected a bit more hospitality from the United crew after the game.

The former England attacking midfielder was expecting to share a drink with the staff of his former club after the game as tradition dictates, but never got the invite.

He thought it was disrespectful and disappointing that none of the current Red Devils’ staff cared about offering him an invite for a glass of wine or a mug of tea.

“I went straight up to see Sir Alex because I got a text from him afterwards to say ‘come up and see me’”, Ince explained.

“So myself, my wife and [son] Thomas went up there and spent an hour with him. It disappointed me because none of the United staff asked me in for a glass of wine. I didn’t like that, it’s a lack of respect.

“Whoever it is, win, lose or draw, you say pop in for a drink. Whether it’s wine or tea it doesn’t really matter. None of their staff did that so that was disappointing.

‘”As a manager, whether or not you get beaten, you say come in for a glass of wine.”
