Arsenal striker, Gabriel Jesus, has spoken about the incident that ultimately led to him leaving Manchester City in 2022.
According to the Brazilian, he decided to leave the Premier League champions, after manager Pep Guardiola made him cry.
Guardiola left Jesus out of his starting XI for a Champions League fixture against PSG in November 2021.
Speaking to the โDenilson Showโ podcast, Jesus said: โThere was a Champions League game, PSG, at home, in which he put [Oleksandr] Zinchenko as a false 9. Crazy thing.
โThe day before, he didnโt even use [Zinchenko] in training, he had put me in as a striker. Zinchenko even joked with me: โthat day I felt bad for you.โ
โTwo hours before the game, thereโs a team talk, the team eats, rests for 30 minutes and goes to the game. He told us the team, I didnโt even eat. I went straight to the room, crying, I called my mother to talk: โI want to leave.โ Iโm going home, because he put [Zinchenko] on, and he didnโt put me on. He put a left-back there. I went crazy.โ
