I knew Arsenal would fight Guardiola for title – Arteta

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has admitted he knew fighting for the Premier League title with his former boss Pep Guardiola and Manchester City for the title was inevitable.

Arteta worked as Guardiola’s assistant for over three years before taking the job at the Emirates.

Together they won two Premier League titles, an FA Cup and two league cups.

This season, however, Arteta now stands as the most credible threat to City’s fifth title in six seasons.

“It’s strange. We worked together for many years.

“We have incredible experiences together. We have a very special relationship and when you face that kind of person it’s always strange.

“But I knew, the day I made the decision [to leave Manchester City and join Arsenal], that was going to be the case,” Arteta said.
