GIW Declares War On Corruption, Targets Unresolved Audit Findings

London-based NGO to deploy AI-assisted research and whistleblower information LONDON, August 19, 2026 Global Integrity Watch (GIW), a London-based non-governmental organisation, has launched a public accountability initiative aimed at exposing documented cases of financial mismanagement, non-compliance and weak governance in Nigerian public institutions.

The organisation said the initiative is intended to support the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu by drawing attention to unresolved issues contained in reports of the Auditor-General for the Federation.GIW said while Nigeria has recorded improvements in macroeconomic reforms, stronger accountability within government agencies is necessary to ensure that such progress translates into better economic opportunities and services for the Nigerian.Focus on audit findings

According to Abraham Temitayo Adewoye, Executive Director of GIW, the group will particularly examine agencies that repeatedly appear in Auditor-General reports for non-compliance.

The organisation said it would track each case from the original audit finding through management’s response, the Auditor-General’s evaluation, recommendations and eventual resolution.

“We want Nigerians to know what happened to every serious audit finding, whether funds were recovered and whether recommendations were implemented,”

GIW said.AI-assisted investigationsThe organisation also announced plans to use advanced artificial-intelligence-assisted research tools to analyse government reports, procurement information, parliamentary records and other publicly available documents.

GIW said the technology would help identify recurring patterns and unresolved issues but stressed that AI would not replace documentary evidence or due process.London meeting

GIW said its executive meeting in London on August 17, 2026, resolved to intensify monitoring of public agencies repeatedly appearing in Auditor-General reports.

The organisation described the initiative as a campaign against impunity, waste and institutional non-compliance, stressing that it was not politically motivated.Whistleblowers encouraged

GIW also commended whistleblowers who have contacted the organisation and encouraged Nigerians with credible information about misuse of public resources to continue submitting evidence.

The organisation said allegations would be verified against official records before publication.

Adewoye: Commitment is non-negotiableThe Executive Director of GIW, Comrade Abraham Temitayo Adewoye, said the organisation’s commitment to fighting corruption was non-negotiable.

“Nigeria belongs to all of us, and we cannot build a stronger economy while allowing weaknesses in public institutions to continue unchecked.”Adewoye said GIW was developing relationships with international anti-corruption organisations to strengthen its work.

“We will not condemn anybody without evidence. Our responsibility is to investigate, document, ask questions and allow the relevant institution to respond.”GIW said its campaign was intended to complement government efforts rather than oppose the Federal Government.

It called on civil-society organisations, journalists, whistleblowers and Nigerians to join efforts to strengthen accountability.

“Let us say no to corruption, waste and impunity. Every naira belonging to the Nigerian people must be properly accounted for. Let us work together to make Nigeria great again.”
