The immediate past governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, has made his first public appearance after spending 48 hours in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Okowa was arrested by the anti-graft agency on November 4, 2024, over an alleged diversion of N1.3tn derivation fund.
He was also accused of failing to render accounts of the funds as well as another N40bn he allegedly claimed he used to acquire shares in UTM Floating Liquefied Natural Gas.
Okowa was, however, released two days later at the EFCC office in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Sharing photos of his recent engagements on his social media pages, Okow wrote: “I had the pleasure of attending the 5-year remembrance of Late Deaconess Magdalene Zipuamere Egukawhore, mother of High Chief Emonena Victor Wayles Egukawhore (JP), at Patani yesterday.
“It was wonderful to reconnect with my good friend and brother, Bayelsa State Governor, His Excellency, Governor Douye Diri.”
