Enough is Enough: Christian Youths Plan Protest Against Attacks on Christians, Fathers of Faith

The Concerned Christian Youth Forum (CCYF) is set to stage a peaceful protest in response to the escalating attacks against the Christian faith and Christian leaders.

According to James Paul Adama, the convener of the group, the protest aims to express frustration over the growing disregard for Christianity and the unacceptable actions taken against Christian leaders by Omoyele Sowore and his associates.

The situation, Adama notes, has been exacerbated by the deliberate targeting of Christianity and Christian leaders, with their beliefs and traditions being disrespected. “Our faith is being undermined by Omoyele Sowore and his collaborators who are receiving financial support for the sole purpose of sparking religious conflict,” Adama stated.

The CCYF is also using the protest to call the government’s attention to the alarming rise in killings and bloodshed across the country. Adama emphasized that the group demands the government take all necessary steps to end the senseless killings. “We are demanding that the government do everything possible to end this senseless bloodshed,” he added.

The protest is scheduled for May 21st at the Unity Fountain in Maitama, Abuja, and will run from 10 am to 2 pm. To facilitate attendance, the CCYF has arranged for free buses decorated with their banners to provide transportation from various locations across the city and the six area councils of the FCT.

“We are calling on all Christian Youths within the FCT to join us in this peaceful protest,” Adama said, urging youths to come out and express their concerns over the attacks on their faith and leaders. The group hopes that the protest will bring attention to their plight and prompt the government to take action.
