EFCC arrest female bishop for allowing Yahoo boys spray money on cow in church

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has revealed that its operatives have arrested Angel Oyeghe, the self-acclaimed archbishop and founder of Faith Healing Ministry in Warri, Delta state.

The anti-graft agency, in a statement on Wednesday, said Oyeghe was arrested on Tuesday over a viral video where “several individuals under her supervision were seen spraying naira notes on a live cow during a church programme”.

EFCC added that the archbishop would be charged in court for conspiracy, naira mutilation, and alleged money laundering.

The statement further said that she was apprehended by the operatives of its Benin zonal directorate.

“The Commission is on the trail of arresting other suspects, as their action contravenes the provision of Section 21 of the Central Bank of Nigeria Act, 2007,” the statement reads.

Archbishop Oyeghe has made useful statements and will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.”

In recent years, some Nigerians abroad have been jailed for internet and wire fraud as the international community beams its searchlight on the criminal activities of Nigerian Yahoo boys.

The anti-graft agency has also stepped up arrests of suspects of naira abuse. Some big names in the country have been arrested and tried under the law of Nigeria.
