Dead body of July Hero Martyr Osman Hadi Arrives in Bangladesh

The Dead body of July hero and fearless defender of Bangladesh’s independence and sovereignty, Shaheed Sharif Osman Hadi, has arrived in Dhaka.


The aircraft carrying his remains Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight EA-585 landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 5:48 pm on Friday (December 19). Hadi’s body was taken out through the airport’s Cantonment Gate.


Earlier, the flight departed from Singapore’s Changi International Airport for Dhaka at 2:03 pm Bangladesh time. From then on, supporters of Hadi began gathering in front of Gate No. 8 of Shahjalal Airport. Meanwhile, tight security measures were put in place at the airport centering on the transfer of Hadi’s body from Singapore to Dhaka.


Later, the body of Shaheed Sharif Osman Hadi also described by Inqilab Mancha as a fearless martyr for independence and sovereignty was kept at the mortuary of the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases in the capital.


In a Facebook post, Inqilab Mancha reiterated that Osman Hadi’s janaza will be held on Saturday (December 20) after Zuhr prayers at Manik Mia Avenue in Dhaka. The platform also said that, based on the family’s request, Shaheed Sharif Osman Hadi will be buried beside the grave of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam.


The information was confirmed on Friday (December 19) by Faiz Ahmed, Senior Assistant Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser. Earlier, it had been announced that the janaza would be held at 2:30 pm, which was later revised.


In the evening, Inqilab Mancha said in another Facebook post that, following the family’s request, decisions were taken to bury Osman Hadi beside Poet Nazrul and to hold the janaza after Zuhr prayers at Manik Mia Avenue.

Accordingly, instead of today, Hadi’s body will be brought to the Central Mosque tomorrow along with a procession. The platform urged students and the public to continue their movement peacefully today and tomorrow so that no group can infiltrate, weaken the movement, or create opportunities for violence.


On December 12, Osman Hadi was critically injured by a gunshot to the head fired by armed assailants during an election campaign in Purana Paltan in the capital. He was first taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where initial surgery was performed, and was later shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Evercare Hospital.


After three days of treatment there, he was flown to Singapore by air ambulance on Monday (December 15) for advanced medical care. He passed away on Thursday night while undergoing treatment in Singapore.


Following the death of Sharif Osman Hadi, Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has declared a one-day state mourning on Saturday (December 20)
