Commissioner Affirms Edo Government’s Commitment to Sustaining Reforms

Edo state commissioner for communication and orientation, Chris Nehikhare, has assured that Godwin Obaseki’s administration will continue to sustain its reforms to alleviate the suffering caused by the rising inflation.

He noted that the free-bus scheme and improved work conditions, among others of Obaseki’s government, would also be sustained.

Nehikhare in a press statement on Sunday, March 24, revealed that the Edo government had paid civil and public servants’ salaries for March while assuring that it would continue to meet its statutory obligations to workers before the 26th of every month.

He stressed pensioners had also been paid their pensions for March.

The commissioner said: “They (workers and pensioners) received their alerts on Sunday. This is very much in line with the Edo State government’s policy of ensuring that workers are paid before the 26th day of every month.

“We want to use this opportunity to appreciate workers for their commitment and steadfastness despite the harsh economic conditions we face.”

Nehikhare also stated that Edo workers had continued to discharge their duties in good faith, and pushed even harder to ensure that the government’s programmes, policies, and reforms were implemented
