‎The lingering crisis within the Benue State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, appears to have been resolved following a reconciliation between Governor Hyacinth Alia and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume.

‎News reports that the peace meeting was convened at the instance of President Bola Tinubu, with Governor Alia extending an invitation to Akume for the talks.

‎The meeting, held at the Banquet Hall of the Benue State Government House, was attended by political leaders, traditional rulers, and clerics from across the state.

‎Speaking with newsmen shortly after the meeting, Alia disclosed that one of the key resolutions reached was for the party to work towards his return to office in 2027.

‎He also stated that all members of the National Assembly under the APC platform from the state are expected to secure re-election in the next general elections.

‎More details to follow.
