BSS, Bangladesh:
A Dhaka court has ordered a ban on leaving the country for former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, her sister Sheikh Rehana, son Sajeeb Ahmed Joy and daughter Saima Wazed Putul, who fled the country in the face of the anti-discrimination student-public movement.
The other three are Sheikh Rehana’s daughters Tulip Rizwana Siddique, Azmina Siddique and son Radwan Mujib Siddique.
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md. Zakir Hossain Ghalib issued the order today following the ACC’s application. This information was learned from court sources today.
The petition states that the corruption allegation of Tk 59,000 crore against Sheikh Hasina, Sheikh Rehana, Sajeeb Ahmed Joy, Saima Wazed, Tulip Rizwana Siddique, Azmina Siddique and son Radwan Mujib Siddique is under investigation. It is absolutely necessary to cancel their foreign travel in the interest of a fair investigation of the allegations.
