Protesters on Thursday took to the streets of Abuja, urging opposition leaders, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and former Senate President David Mark, to steer clear of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The protest was led by the factional National Chairman of the ADC, Nafiu Bala, who accused the politicians of attempting to take control of the party.
Bala was joined by ADC House of Representatives member, Leke Abejide, as they marched alongside supporters carrying placards with different messages.
Some of the placards read, “Woe to Political Marauders” and “Hon. Nafiu Bala, We Stand With You.”
The demonstration appears to be a counter-protest following an earlier rally by the David Mark-led faction at the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
